What does NFC mean?

Near Field Communication

It is the technology that can connect two devices, located a short distance from each other, without having to use cables and without entering pins or passwords.

Programmable

An NFC tag is a kind of "electronic label" equipped with a programmable NFC chip (via a smartphone app or PC program)  to do something automatically when the smartphone reaches the minimum connection distance. 

What is is for?

The most frequent use in marketing is to open internet pages containing:

  • Videos;
  • Presentations;
  • Catalogs;
  • Brochures;
  • Offers;
  • Business cards;

  • Data are always up to date;
  • It doesn't require recharging;
  • It is safe (it only works at a short distance/contact).


  • What is the difference with QR Code?

    • More simplicity for the user: QR code needs to be well scanned, with a suitable app, whereas NFC requires only to put your phone closer;
    • Software standard: to read NFC you don't have to install an app; 
    • More contents: a NFC  Tag can contain more info compared to QR Code;
    • More speed:  the transfer of data is much more quicker and safer; 

  • How does the APP for NFC work?

    If you want to set an NFC Tag, you have to get three basic elements: 

    • An empty NFC tag: it is necessary an empty NFC tag or a re-writable tag.
    • A device Android or iPhone NFC enabled (for  IPhone it works only from version IPhone 7 on)
    • One app to program tags: there are many free apps like  "Trigger", "NFC Tools" , "NFC TagWriter of NXP"  and "Strumenti NFC" 

    Once you have downloaded one of these apps, you have only to follow instructions .

NFC service is available on models  ZEN and TANTRA, in different standard colors or in special colors (also PMS) from 10.000 pcs.

On ZEN model the chip is under the big clip, on which it is already embossed the writing NFC.

On Tantra model the chip is inserted inside the barrel of pen: in this case  we suggest to print the barrel with customer logo + NFC symbol on the back of barrel  (where it is placed the label) to better identify the reading point.

Use the flyer to explain how to use NFC technology and to boost your communication. 


We can realize the flyer in different sizes: 

  • Like a bookmark (50x160 mm ) in resistant carton printed 4/4: it will be used then during your relax time dedicated to reading extending your promotional message;
  • Like a sheet (size 105x160 mm) in paper printed 4/4  and folded in two. You will have then the possibility to use 4 different sides for your communication. 
  •  Like a small booklet (size 210x160 mm)  in paper printed 4/4  and folded to obtain until 8 pages to use for all you need to communicate.

Insert pen and flyer in a transparent envelope closed with an adhesive strip to boost the value of your gadget.
